Hi. It was good to see so many at the meeting last week. I attach the Minutes,
together with some notes made by Tina (who spoke to us about her experiences of prayer walking) on 'prayer walking practicalities'.

Fr David Coxon has let me know that the film about the theologian John Hull - 'Notes on Blindness' - is being shown on television tonight - BBC 4 at 9pm. I saw the film last week. It was moving and thoughtful. The book on which the film is based is called 'Touching the Rock'.

Dates for your diary:
-The next full meeting of 'Churches Together in DH7' will be on Wednesday 10 May, at the UM Catholic club. The main part of the evening will be given to a chance to hear Phil Togwell, UK prayer co-ordinator of the 24/7 prayer movement, who is coming to tell us about how the movement began (See 'Red Moon Rising' and 'Dirty Glory') and about how we might think about developing creative spaces for prayer in church, schools, and the community. A really good opportunity, I think.

-Pentecost Praise will be on Sunday 4 June, at St Andrew's Brandon. The speaker will be Alan Bell, leader of Emmanuel, Durham.

-There will be a Saturday Awayday at Minsteracres in the summer. Details soon.

Dave Etherington (UMBC) has sent me an e mail with a link to a talk by Pete Greig (founder of the 24/7 prayer movement). I will foward it to you.

I will also forward an e mail from the regional 'Churches Together', with details of the wave of prayer for the UK in the days between Ascension and Pentecost. The document has lots of useful ideas for ways of praying, and encouraging others to pray, for the evangelisation of the UK.

Val Barron, who led a recent Anglican seminar on the benefits system, has prepared notes on the seminar, and I will also forward these in the next few days.

with love in Christ,
